In case you missed our last issue or have not been updated on the Conference 2018’s theme, behold that it will be on ‘digitalisation’, and the newly unveiled slogan is Going Digital: Unleashing the potential for SNRD Asia and TUEWAS.
Aptly in line with the company-wide digital change framework, it proves all the more timely that we pick up this topic and be well-equipped for what is to come.
For the long time GIZ staffer, you have probably seen first-hand how digitalisation has impacted your everyday work: from making use of drones and satellite data in crop monitoring or utilising satellite images in identifying global forest loss. Given this, it is hard to imagine our day-to-day work without any digital presence.
Nevertheless, some might be reluctant to new technologies at times. Just like how they say change is not always easy.
But for us as a community of experts collaborating across geographical borders, it has been a while coming that the digital revolution has transformed and eased how we engage. Our Steering and Working Group meetings have been taking place virtually and recently more seamlessly owing to the introduction of Skype for Business (safe for the annual face-to-face meeting and the big conference where physical meetings is still crucial).
As per every issue, get updated on what has been happening within our community in the round-up section. If the topic of SDGs is your calling, do not miss the SDGs project perspectives in the Spotlight.
